So did you get your party invite? If you haven’t that don’t worry – just drop us a line and we will put you on our list to come and help us celebrate our 10th anniversary!!
Ding dong, ding dong…
The Christmas Party is almost upon us, we knew when it was going to be, we knew we had to get a new dress – well its a good excuse as anyone to buy a dress – but I am still in panic mode. I appreciate that a Little Black Dress is great for all occasions but I am not little, I don’t really like to wear Black, and does it need to be a dress ? You need to choose carefully image turning up and seeing the same dress, do you where some thing already in the wardrobe – will someone might recognise it. Then once you get the dress its the shoes my what another nightmare process – cant I wear converse boots ? Then lastly the handbag, the only reason we have this to carry all the other bits that chaps don’t want to carry all I need in mine is my lipstick. But after a few drinks will anyone care, does it really matter – well yes it does matter and no as no one really cares its all in the mind you know! Happy Party going!
A thought….
December 1st, feels like halfway through as already the shops have had Christmas Carols playing, minces pies on sale and believe it or not some now have Christmas Cards and wrapping paper reduced! Maybe I am looking at Christmas through tinted glasses but is it not better to have little tip bits of Christmas drip fed to us via a traditional Advent Calendar rather than in November with ITS HERE all brash and in big red letters ? I am feeling rather smug as I only have a handful of presents to purchase and they are all sorted, wrapped and delivered. Yet I see so many friends who have children fighting their way through countless websites to try and track down a particular toy, video game or new console of the latest 3D, Virtual, all singing all dancing with smellie vision ! Christmas is a time of giving, but lets go for quality and gesture rather than big, brass and gross! Wishing a small but perfect Christmas.
When we set our minds to something….
Moving is meant to be one of the most stressful things you can do. But imagine doing it from the other side of the world, and then having a fixed time frame to be in the UK to move, present an award at a prestigious event and get an important clients project out on time. A normal day at Design Types then!
Since we moved in July we have boxed, unboxed, packaged, counted and placed with love on our shelves various print samples, the meeting table is in place, the floor tiles are laid and we even have a toaster. Yes, we are complete and we look forward to being able to welcome you soon to our ofifces – stay tuned for more details!!!
Santa Claus is coming!!!!!
Its time to get into the roof, move the dust ridden cases, empty toy boxes and get the Crimble Decorations out. Is it me or is part of the routine for parents to take out each Christmas decoration and recount how it was purchased and how you used to be so cute them before you grew up. This is fine but after the fourth box and the 20th time you heard the story about how Aunt Edith ate the doggies chocolate drops instead of the Chocolate Brazils and the vice versa with the dog who had to be rushed to the vet afterwards. Don’t despair there is always a pub to visit, and important email to check or just claim you need to get to the office to check you didn’t leave the lights on! Don’t forget it will soon be Easter!
Newest member quizes up!
Last night a nervous, but eager new member of Design Types took part in the Chamber Pub Quiz, part of the Presidents team no less! It was very well attended and there was definitely some company pride at stake but I am pleased to say with a very good sense of humour as well. The event started well as the beer was wonderful and off we started, by half time we were in the top four places.
After some more beer and a some wonderful food we felt confident we could hold our heads up high. How wrong you can be! After an awful round on Christmas hits, some very odd questions we finished some what lower down the list! A good night was had by all, and we will return to fit another day.
